Harry Potter should have practiced BJJ or my review of The Order Of the Phoenix Book #5

With Book 5 under my belt, I have to say that the story is getting darker and more sinister.
I loved the ending and it definitely left me eager to read the next books.

However, I believe Harry should have practiced some Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the DA club as it would have come useful in his battles. I want to see a Death Eater jinx their way out of double leg take-down and a nice guillotine choke… and no curses can be thrown if your arm is cranked in an arm bar.
So advice to Harry for the next two books… start a BJJ club at Hogwarts. I would be happy to teach DA club members some basic grappling skills.
I’ll be waiting for the owl…

Till then, another great book and I am excited to venture further into the story 🙂

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter, #5)Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It’s getting darker and more sinister. Larger than previous books, it was an engaging read.
Nice ending, with big time characters dying and big revelations made. This one definitely leaves you on the edge of the seat for the next book.

  1. Yeah the story gets darker. Wait till you read the 7th book. 😀 Thinking about a Hogwarts Bjj club conjures up images if Ron complaining about some cauliflower ear that he received after a hard training session. Then someone casting a spell to remove the swelling which goes awry. Maybe I’m thinking too much into this. 😉

    1. Ha ha, I agree about Ron. And Hermione would be complaining that they are not doing enough drilling and reading every BJJ instructional book in sight, while Weasley twins would be figuring out how to implement berimbolo sweep by taking a pill. 🙂
