For a while, few of my friends kept telling me that I should read Harry Potter. I scoffed at them saying that it’s a kid’s book and doesn’t have enough adult flare for me.
I finally succumbed to the hype and read the first book. With humility I have to admit, it’s a very good and entertaining read. Despite a clear PG style, at least in the first book (I was told later books are more adult), this 34-year-old was more than satisfied. J. K. Rowling is a superb author!!! The book is catchy and engaging. Even though I knew the general story line, it kept me on the edge of my seat and left me with a strong desire to read the next book … which I shall.
Here is my initial review on Goodreads.com
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Pleasantly surprised… Fun, easy and an engaging read. J L Rowling is definitely a great writer. For a kids book, it is very engaging for an adult.
Your title should be, ‘I’m 34 and I’m awesome!’. Because we all know people who read HP are awesome 🙂
Ha ha … Thank you … My awesomeness has not matured yet as I have only read the first book 🙂
