Siddhartha by Hesse

Siddhartha (Xist Classics)Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A really wonderful interpretation of eastern philosophy and Buddhist spirituality.

Siddhartha’s journey is as saintly as it is human. Unlike many other spiritual journey stories, the hero experiences human and spiritual world. Hesse shows that all life experiences are needed to be embraced to gain knowledge or enlightenment.

Siddhartha suffers loss and uncertainty as well as rejoices in enlightenment and physical and sexual bliss.

This book is a great read and a beautiful view into Indian Buddhism.
